Nothing Ever Goes My Way!
Ever feel like nothing ever goes your way? I get it. I've tried growing broccoli, brussels sprouts, and cauliflower, but no matter how much I try, they just won't grow. But you know what? That's okay. It's all part of the journey. Today, I want to talk about purpose and passion and how they can guide us through these challenges.
The Inspiration Behind The Slow Life Company
The Slow Life Company was founded in January 2023 with a simple vision: to help people slow down and find joy in the simple things. My journey began with a focus on natural products and sustainability, but as I grew, I realized that my true passion lies in helping people live joyfully. This realization has led me to transition into offering digital products that are accessible, convenient, and designed to make a positive impact on your life.
The Mission of The Slow Life Company
Our mission at The Slow Life Company is to provide practical techniques to slow down and find the joy in life. This includes step-by-step guides, long and short-form videos on mindset, and accessible natural products for home and garden. We aim to help people live intentionally and in harmony with nature. By offering a wide range of eco-friendly and sustainable options, we promote health, balance, and a deep connection with the natural world.
Defining Purpose and Passion
In the context of The Slow Life Company, purpose and passion mean taking the opportunity to deepen my knowledge and understanding of what makes people feel happy, satisfied, and content. I spend a lot of time reading and sharing what I'm learning. By focusing so much of my time on this topic, I feed my own need to create and be in a space of positivity.
A Moment of Clarity
During the peak of Covid, when the USA seemed to shut down for two weeks, I had a moment of clarity. It sounds cliché, but it felt like an awakening. I became aware of the chaos and dissatisfaction in my life. This moment of introspection led me to start a journey towards slow living—a concept I had never heard of before. That journey has brought me here, to The Slow Life Company.
Impacting My Audience
I hope to pique the interest of people who feel burned out, sad, unhappy, or too busy to realize they feel anything at all. I want them to take a moment to zoom in on their lives and see if they need to make changes that will lead to a happier, better life. For those already on the journey, I hope to inspire and learn from them through the unique topics I share.
Aligning Products with Purpose
My focus is shifting to digital products, primarily email and video trainings/courses. Over time, I'll include other items and some physical products that help me live a sustainable, more carefree life.
Maintaining Passion and Purpose
I check in with myself daily and adjust as needed. Some days I feel really inspired to do this work, and some days, not so much. I honor what's going on in my life and adjust as needed.
Overcoming Challenges
Learning the fundamentals of creating courses, email trainings, and social media content has been a steep learning curve. Sometimes I feel like I have no idea what might resonate with the community I'm trying to build. But I love that when you open yourself up and follow the path your life leads you on, exciting opportunities reveal themselves.
The Future of The Slow Life Company
I don't have any customer testimonials yet—this is part of what I'm figuring out: how to get in front of more people. But I see The Slow Life Company continuing to add positive value as needed, evolving to fulfill its purpose.
Purpose and passion are what drive us forward, even when things don't go as planned. Whether it's trying to grow broccoli in your garden or running a business, embracing the journey with all its ups and downs is what makes it worthwhile.
