Perfect, Easy Hamburger Buns Recipe
This recipe is super fast and easy and tastes so good! Even if you forget to make these the day you need them, you only need 30 minutes or so from start to finish. I was on a mission to find the perfect buns, and these are them. Enjoy!
Makes about 8 buns.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water (about 110 degrees)
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoon sesame seeds
Directions
- Add yeast, warm water, butter, and sugar to a large bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes or until foamy.
- Whisk in egg.
- Slowly mix in the salt and flour. Continue to add flour until you have a soft dough.
- Using a dough hook, knead in a mixer for 3-5 minutes, until dough is smooth and elastic. If you don't want to use a mixer, you can knead by hand on a lightly floured surface.
- Divide into 8 equal pieces. Shape each into a ball.
- Place the dough balls on a greased baking sheet. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- After 10 minutes, brush the buns with an egg was, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake until golden brown, 8-12 minutes.
